Interior Architect Derya Coşkun: The Meeting of Art and Experience in Space Design
Derya Coşkun, who lives in Gaziantep, started her working life in a stained glass workshop when she graduated from Gaziantep High School in 1988. In 1989-1990, she worked as a designer in a workshop that applied hand patterns on tiles. Between 1990-1995, she worked as the head of the pattern department at Tekerekoğlu Textile Factory.
In 1995-1996, he worked as both a designer and store sales manager at Erdem Glass Workshop. In 1997, he started his first space design project by drawing the administrative building of Erpen Plastic Factory. At the same time, she completed Anadolu University Open Education Faculty Public Relations Department in 1997-1998.
In 1998, she founded her own interior design office Livan Design Studio, not only providing project services but also adding accessories and design furniture products to her portfolio.
In 2004, while continuing her home, office and clinic projects, she joined the Design Culture Management Certificate Program, a joint training program of Domus Academy of Bilgi University and completed this training in two years.
In 2006, she accelerated her work by forming a team with architects and interior designers in order to focus her office entirely on decoration and project services. In addition to residential, office and retail projects, she specialized in restaurant, cafe and dessert industry store decorations. She also designed retail and restaurant designs in the fields of interior architecture, project management and implementation.
Until 2016, Derya Coşkun, who worked in the fields of space design, project management and implementation as an apprentice, took the university exam in 2017 and won Hasan Kalyoncu University Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design and graduated in 2020 as the third in the department. In 2022, she started her master's degree and completed her thesis in 2024.
Derya Coşkun, who shapes the design process by creating a different story in each project, has adopted the principle of combining functionality with a timeless aesthetic by prioritizing natural materials. With more than 26 years of experience in the sector, she continues to realize projects in the fields of interior architecture projects, project management and consultancy as a Master Interior Architect since 2024.
As of 2025, he aims to create a special product collection designed by himself.
Derya Coşkun, who is also closely interested in miniature art, has also gained a place in the art world with her miniature works on Gaziantep culture. Her works have been included in Akten Köylüoğlu's book “Ancient City Gaziantep” and Özden Mermer Özsabuncuoğlu's book “40 Ways of Grapes”, and her miniature work describing Gaziantep bath culture is exhibited in the Pasha Bath Museum.
